Animals are released onto our property or where species and age requires at the place they were found.

Kangaroo joeys can be in care for 18 months, Leading up to release day they are gradually weaned and have been living in a secure, large pre-release enclosure where they prepare for life in the wild. Wombat joeys usually go to a pre-release burrow and when they are able to dig out of the yard live independently. Possums go through the same process and are supplied with a possie box that moves through each stage with them until it is placed up in a tree near the release aviary for them to sleep in until they find a nest of their own.

Many of our birds are soft released from our verandah and come and go until they have totally established a life in the wild.

Scruffy wombat and Bearded Dragon
Scruffy wombat, free and living in a burrow close to the house came to investigate a bearded dragon on the day of its release. The dragon had been in care with a jaw injury after being hit by a car. Scruffy is so wild that she now chases us if we happen to see her late at night.
